Our three-week coral quarantine process

Our coral QT process includes three weeks of milbemycin oxime treatment with weekly potassium chloride (KCl) dips, designed to reduce the risk of unwanted pests entering your reef.

Quarantine is not a pest-free guarantee. Pests or eggs may remain. We urge every customer to do their own due diligence: carefully inspect new corals, use coral-appropriate dips when needed, and quarantine new additions before introducing them to a display aquarium.

SPS lighting and flow

Care requirements vary by coral. Match lighting and water movement to the particular coral rather than treating all SPS alike.

Acropora

  • Lighting: High light after gradual acclimation. Around 300 PAR is a useful reference for established Acropora, not an immediate placement target for a newly arrived frag. Increase exposure gradually over several weeks.
  • Flow: Strong, varied water movement that reaches between branches and carries waste away.
  • Care: Best suited to a stable, established reef. Keep alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium consistent and avoid abrupt changes.
